Recreation Programs

The following is based on the 2024/2025 season

U4 Coed - Lil Laces (2021)

The Lil Laces focus is on developing coordination, social interaction, and helping players build a love for the game. The Lil Laces is for everyone to play, have fun and learn how to work on a team. This is a Saturday only commitment, where the first 20 minutes of the "Game Time" consists of a pre-game team training session, followed by a 10-minute half time break. Recognizing that some of our Lil Laces coaches are brand new to game, each week there will be a mentor instructor/coach to help coaches lead the Lil Laces team training session. For our Lil Laces not quite ready to leave mom or dads side, we encourage a family member, 12 years or older, to participate in the pre-game training session as the Lil Laces buddy. The Lil Laces will then finish their Soccer Saturday with a short 20 minute 3v3 game, consisting of four 5-minute quarters. Both team coaches will remain on the field to coach, and to also help "referee" the game.

U5 (2020)
U6 (2019)

4v4 is building on the fundamentals of soccer including touches on the ball, building confidence, and growing from the "me game" to the "we game" of soccer. Players will learn how to work as a team and learn some of the basic fundamentals of the game like goal kicks, free substitution and corner kicks. Throw ins are not used at this age, but instead the ball is placed on the line and kicked into play. This is a Saturday only commitment, where the first 20 minutes of "Game Time" consists of a pre-game team training session, followed with a 30-minute 4V4 game, consisting of four 5-minute quarters and a 5-minute halftime. Both team coaches will remain on the field to coach, and to also help "referee" the game.

U7 (2018)
U8 (2017)

U10 (2015/2016)

Games will have referees who will help in the understanding of the next level of the game. Coaches will focus on how and why attacking and defending the goal is important. We continue to strive to help players build relationships with other players. We teach how decisions and movement on and off the ball affect teammates and opponents. One hour practice, during the week, determined by the team's coach.

U12 (2013/2014)

At this age we teach players roles and position of the soccer field. The player will gain fundamental understanding of the meaning and role, position, and task on a team. We continue to develop leadership skills in every player. Not everyone continues to play soccer throughout their life, but the life skills and lessons taught with Utah North Youth Soccer will be with you forever. One hour practice, during the week, determined by the team's coach.

U14 (2011/2012)
U19 (2006/2007/2008/2008/2010)

At this age teams are COED. We do our best to keep them in their birth year (exceptions can be made based on number of kids and teams). They will learn how to interact and make relationships in a COED environment along with playing the game they love. Coaches will work together with the player to teach them to be the best player they can be for their position on the team. One hour practice, during the week, determined by the team's coach.
